Dance
I have been calling dances here in Ann Arbor since the early eighties and I am now calling contra dances on the second Saturday of the month at the Webster Church Community Building near Dexter MI. I also help lead English Country dancing on Tuesday nights at Chapel Hill Community Building. The Second Saturday Dance is one of the longer, continuous running dances in the Ann Arbor area. The dance was started by Rich McMath at the end of 1985. This dance has had numerous band playing for it and the current band is the Sharon Hollow Stringband. Schedule for the Second Saturday Contra Dance
I will also call the AACTMAD dance in October, October 4, 2008 at the Pittsfield Grange, 8:00 PM. The band I will call to is the Sharon Hollow Stringband, the same band I call to at the Second Saturday Contra Dance. I started an English Country dance workshop in October of 1984, shortly after I started this dance series Erna-Lynne Bogue moved to Ann Arbor and we both lead this workshop for many years. That series has moved to many locations around Ann Arbor and is now the AACTMAD Tuesday English Country dance at Chapel Hill. See a complete schedule of dance events at the AACTMAD web site Over the years I have written a few dances, these can be found here.
